Red-necked Grebe at Glue Factory Pond in Foxboro, Massachusetts

Red-necked Grebe-1Over the past few weeks, I have been driving by different mill ponds on my way to and from work in search of Otters using the ponds that are partially iced over. Check out my photo essay about when I was fortunate enough to find a family of Otters at Trowel  Shop Pond. On my drive to work, I started driving past Glue Factory Pond on the border of Mansfield and Foxboro. This past week, I’ve been lucky enough to see and photograph a relatively uncommon bird, a Red-necked Grebe. Enjoy a few photographs…Grebe?-1

If you look closely at it’s neck, you will see a fish going down the grebe’s throat.
